Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (the leaner the better)
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Other Ingredients

  • 15 oz can green beans, drained
  • 10.75 oz can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups frozen tater tots

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
  2. Prepare Baking Dish. Lightly grease an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
  3. Brown Ground Beef. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat to keep the dish lean.
  4. Sauté Onions. Add the diced onions to the skillet and cook them for 4 to 5 minutes until they become translucent and soft.
  5. Add Garlic. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring frequently to avoid burning.
  6. Season Mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce to the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all flavors.
  7. Assemble Casserole Base. Transfer the ground beef mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly to form the base layer.
  8. Add Layered Ingredients. Spread the condensed cream of mushroom soup evenly over the beef, then add the drained green beans on top. Season the green beans layer lightly with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the green beans.
  9. Top with Tater Tots. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  10. Bake. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Serve. Remove from the oven and serve immediately while hot and flavorful.
