This Slow Cooker Honey Mustard Chicken is a comforting and flavorful dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a rich honey mustard sauce. Perfect for an easy dinner, it requires minimal prep and slow cooking to develop deep flavors and juicy texture.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 lbs. boneless skinless chicken breasts

Sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ tsp. dried leaf oregano
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ cup heavy cream (add at the end)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of your slow cooker, ensuring they are evenly spread for uniform cooking.
  2. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, combine honey, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, melted butter, minced garlic, dried leaf oregano, salt, and pepper. Hold off adding the heavy cream until later.
  3. Pour the sauce: Pour the prepared honey mustard mixture evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, coating them thoroughly.
  4. Cook: Cover the slow cooker with its lid and cook on LOW for 6 hours to allow the chicken to become tender and absorb the sauce flavors.
  5. Add cream: At the end of the cooking time, add the ½ cup of heavy cream to the slow cooker. Stir gently to combine the cream with the sauce for richness.
  6. Shred and serve: Using two forks, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker, mixing with the creamy sauce. Serve warm and enjoy your hearty meal!

Notes

  • Do not add the heavy cream at the beginning as it can curdle during slow cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste, adding more salt or pepper if desired.
  • Serve this dish with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
