This Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark is a delightful sweet and salty treat combining smooth semi-sweet chocolate, crunchy pretzels, and rich caramel, topped with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt. Perfect for parties or an easy homemade gift, this bark requires minimal prep and comes together in just about 10 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (one whole bag)

Pretzels

  • 8 oz pretzels (half of a 16-oz bag)

Caramel Topping

  • 11 oz Kraft caramel (one whole bag)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Finishing

  • Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to ensure the bark doesn’t stick during setting.
  2. Melt chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips by microwaving in 30-second increments, stirring well between each interval until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Spread chocolate and add pretzels: Spread about two-thirds of the melted chocolate evenly on the parchment-lined baking sheet. Top the chocolate with pretzels, arranging them roughly and gently pressing them into the chocolate to adhere.
  4. Melt caramel: In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the Kraft caramel with heavy cream by microwaving for 2 minutes, stirring to combine and achieve a smooth drizzle consistency.
  5. Drizzle caramel and chocolate: Evenly drizzle the melted caramel over the pretzels. Then drizzle the remaining melted chocolate on top.
  6. Finish and chill: Sprinkle flaky sea salt generously on top for a salted contrast. Chill the bark in the refrigerator until set, about 1 to 2 hours, or let it set at room temperature for approximately 2 hours if refrigerator space is limited.
  7. Cut and serve: Once set, cut the bark into pieces and enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
  • If you don’t have flaky sea salt, use regular fine sea salt sparingly to avoid overpowering the sweetness.
  • You can substitute pretzels with other crunchy snacks like salted crackers or nuts.
  • For a dairy-free version, choose dairy-free caramel and substitute heavy cream with coconut cream.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or chilled for longer freshness.
