Roasted Sweet Potato Rounds are a simple and delicious baked snack or side dish made with just a few ingredients. These crispy sweet potato slices are perfectly seasoned and baked until golden brown, making them great for meal prep or adding a flavorful crunch to salads and meals.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 medium sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

Optional Spices

  • paprika
  • cumin
  • cayenne
  • cinnamon
  • garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (230°C) to ensure it is hot enough for roasting the sweet potato rounds to crispy perfection.
  2. Prep potatoes: Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove dirt and any blemishes. Do not peel them to keep the natural sweetness and nutrients. Slice the sweet potatoes into 1/3 inch (10 mm) thick rounds for even cooking.
  3. Season potatoes: Drizzle the olive oil evenly on a large sheet pan, spreading it to coat the surface. Place the sweet potato rounds on the pan with one side down to lightly coat them with oil, then flip each round to oil the other side as well. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any optional spices of your choice like paprika or garlic powder for extra flavor.
  4. Bake until golden brown: Bake the sweet potato rounds in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Flip them halfway through baking to ensure both sides become lightly browned and crispy at the edges. Remove from oven when they reach a nice golden color and have a crisp texture.

Notes

  • Do not peel the sweet potatoes to retain nutrients and natural flavors.
  • Cut slices uniformly for even cooking and crispiness.
  • Flip the slices halfway through baking for best results.
  • Optional spices can be tailored to your taste preferences.
  • These rounds make a great salad topping or side dish and keep well for meal prep.
