Nutella waffles are a delicious and indulgent breakfast treat combining the rich, creamy flavor of Nutella with crispy, golden waffles. Perfect for a cozy weekend morning or special occasions, this recipe offers a delightful balance of sweetness and texture, making every bite irresistible.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cup milk
  • ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Waffle Iron and Oven: Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the waffles warm. Also, preheat your waffle iron to low heat as recommended for even cooking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and sea salt until well combined.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the eggs, milk, melted butter, Nutella, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly combined.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gently stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing just until all the flour is incorporated. Avoid overmixing to keep the waffles tender.
  5. Cook Waffles: Grease the preheated waffle iron, then pour approximately ½ cup of batter onto it, adjusting quantity based on your waffle iron's size. Cook the waffles according to the manufacturer’s instructions until golden and crisp.
  6. Keep Waffles Warm: Place cooked waffles on a baking sheet and keep them warm in the preheated oven while you prepare the remaining batter.

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for best results and smoother batter.
  • Adjust Nutella quantity to preference for a more or less intense chocolate-hazelnut flavor.
  • Grease the waffle iron each time to prevent sticking.
  • Do not overmix the batter to avoid tough waffles.
  • Serve waffles immediately with fresh fruit, syrup, or extra Nutella if desired.
  • Waffles are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in a toaster or oven.
