This Iced English Tea Latte is a refreshing and creamy cold beverage combining the robust flavor of black tea with steamed milk. Perfect for a delicious and easy-to-make drink that can be sweetened to your taste and enjoyed chilled over ice.

Ingredients

Tea Latte Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk (or milk of your choice)
  • 2 black tea bags
  • Sweetener of choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tea bags: Place the two black tea bags in a measuring cup large enough to hold the milk and allow room for steeping.
  2. Heat the milk: In a small saucepan, warm the milk over low heat, stirring often to prevent scorching. Heat just until steam rises, making sure the milk does not boil.
  3. Steep the tea: Pour the hot milk over the tea bags in the measuring cup. Let it steep for 10 minutes to develop a rich tea flavor.
  4. Remove tea bags: Stir gently, then squeeze the tea bags lightly to extract the infused milk before removing them from the cup.
  5. Add sweetener: If desired, add your preferred sweetener at this point and stir until fully dissolved.
  6. Cool the tea latte: Loosely cover the cup with a towel and allow it to cool for about 30 minutes to minimize skin forming as it cools.
  7. Refrigerate: Cover the cup loosely with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge until the tea latte is completely cold.
  8. Serve over ice: Pour the cold tea latte into a glass filled with ice cubes and enjoy immediately.
  9. Optional bottling: For making a larger batch, once cooled, transfer the tea latte into a bottle and store refrigerated until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use any milk substitute such as almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust steeping time to make the tea stronger or milder according to your preference.
  • Sweetener options include sugar, honey, agave, or flavored syrups.
  • To avoid milk skin formation, cooling covered loosely is important before refrigeration.
  • The recipe yields one serving but can easily be scaled up for multiple servings.
