Ingredients

Carrots

  • 1 lb carrots (peeled, if desired)

Honey Butter Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (salted or unsalted)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt (plus more to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garnish

  • Chopped chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Chop 1 lb carrots into 2 to 3 inch (5 to 7.5 cm) lengths. Slice thicker carrots in half lengthwise to ensure even cooking. Transfer all prepared carrots to a large mixing bowl.
  2. Season: In a separate container, stir together 3 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons melted butter until combined. Drizzle this honey butter mixture over the carrots. Add 1 clove minced garlic, ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper to the bowl. Toss all ingredients well to coat the carrots evenly with the glaze and seasoning.
  3. Air fry: Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper, making sure it covers the bottom and extends about 2 inches (5 cm) up the sides to prevent sticking and catch drips. Arrange the coated carrots in a single layer inside the basket, then drizzle any remaining honey butter glaze over them. Without preheating, set the air fryer to 400℉ (204℃) and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Halfway through cooking, stir or shake the basket to ensure even browning and tenderness.
  4. Finish: Once tender and golden brown, transfer the carrots and any remaining glaze to a serving platter. Taste and adjust with additional salt if desired. Garnish with chopped chives for a fresh, colorful touch before serving.

Notes

  • For easier peeling, use a vegetable peeler, but peeling is optional if you prefer the skin on.
  • Parchment paper in the air fryer helps prevent sticking and makes cleanup easier; ensure it’s properly trimmed to avoid blocking airflow.
  • Stirring halfway through ensures the carrots cook evenly and develop a consistent glaze and caramelization.
