This dish can be prepared in 20 minutes, making it perfect for a nutritious weeknight dinner. Serve over rice, cauliflower rice, or lettuce wraps for a versatile meal option.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust based on spice preference)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For Garnish

  • Diced green onion
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the lean ground beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is fully browned and no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Once cooked, drain the excess fat from the pan.
  2. Prepare the sauce: While the beef cooks, combine the reduced-sodium soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, water, freshly grated ginger, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl or mini blender. Whisk or blend until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Simmer the beef with sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked ground beef in the skillet. Stir well to coat the beef evenly. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and flavors meld. Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired.
  4. Serve: Spoon the Korean beef mixture over cooked rice, cauliflower rice, or use it as filling in lettuce wraps. Garnish with diced green onions and sesame seeds before serving for an extra burst of flavor and texture.
