This Easy Cauliflower Pizza Crust recipe offers a delicious and healthier alternative to traditional pizza dough. Made with finely minced cauliflower, cheeses, and seasonings, it creates a flavorful, low-carb crust that holds together well. Perfectly crispy and golden, this crust is baked in the oven and can be topped with your favorite sauce and toppings for a satisfying homemade pizza experience.

Ingredients

Crust Ingredients

  • 1 medium to large head of cauliflower
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or favorite pizza cheese blend
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese (preferably the one from the green lidded jar)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425℉ (220℃) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare the Cauliflower: Chop the cauliflower head into florets and pulse them in a food processor until very finely minced, resembling snow. This ensures a delicate and fine texture for the crust.
  3. Cook the Cauliflower: Transfer the minced cauliflower to a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 5 minutes. This softens the cauliflower and helps release moisture.
  4. Drain Excess Moisture: Allow the cauliflower to cool enough to handle. Place it into a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much water as possible to create a dry cauliflower ball. Removing moisture is crucial for a sturdy crust.
  5. Mix Ingredients: Put the squeezed cauliflower in a mixing bowl. Add the shredded mozzarella, grated parmesan, eggs, garlic powder, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  6. Form the Crust: Pour the mixture onto the parchment-lined sheet pan. Press it firmly into a circle shape about 1/4 inch thick, making sure to create a slight lip around the edges to hold toppings.
  7. Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until it turns lightly browned and crispy.
  8. Add Toppings: Remove the crust from the oven and add your favorite pizza sauce and toppings as desired.
  9. Final Bake: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned.

Notes

  • Be sure to squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the cauliflower to prevent a soggy crust.
  • You can use a combination of cheeses according to your preference, but mozzarella and parmesan work best for binding and flavor.
  • Make sure the oven is fully preheated to ensure the crust gets crispy.
  • The crust is delicate, so handle it gently when transferring or after baking.
  • This recipe yields 8 servings, making it ideal for sharing or meal prepping.
