Ingredients

Earl Grey Tea Simple Syrup

  • 2 teaspoons Earl Grey loose leaf tea or 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • ¼ cup freshly boiled water
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

To Assemble

  • 1 cup sparkling water
  • Ice, as needed
  • Whipped cream, to top

Instructions

  1. Make Earl Grey Tea Simple Syrup: Place the Earl Grey tea leaves or tea bags in a small pot and pour in the freshly boiled water. Cover the pot and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. After steeping, remove the tea leaves or bags and add the granulated sugar. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool before proceeding.
  2. Prepare the Drink: In a glass filled with ice, pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of the cooled Earl Grey simple syrup.
  3. Add Sparkling Water: Slowly pour sparkling water into the glass, filling it until nearly full but leaving some space at the top.
  4. Top with Whipped Cream: Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top of the soda. Stir gently if desired and enjoy the creamy, fizzy Earl Grey tea cream soda.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of syrup to your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based whipped cream.
  • Serve immediately after assembly to retain fizz.
