This Cottage Cheese Cookie Dough Mousse is a creamy, protein-packed dessert that combines the wholesome goodness of cottage cheese with the indulgent flavors of nut butter, coconut sugar, and dark chocolate chips. Blended to a thick, smooth consistency resembling cookie dough, this mousse is a quick and easy treat perfect for satisfying sweet cravings in a healthy way. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal prep time, it makes an excellent chilled dessert or snack for four servings.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 250 g Cottage Cheese (1 cup)
  • 30 g Nut Butter (2 tbsp)
  • 40 g Coconut Sugar or Honey (2 tbsp)
  • 40 g Oat Flour (½ cup)
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Bean Paste
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 40 g Dark Chocolate Chips (⅓ cup)

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: Add the cottage cheese, nut butter, coconut sugar (or honey), oat flour, vanilla bean paste, and a pinch of salt into a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth, creamy, and thick, resembling the texture of cookie dough.
  2. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Transfer the blended mixture into a mixing bowl. Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips to evenly distribute them throughout the mousse without breaking them up.
  3. Divide Mousse: Spoon the mousse evenly into four serving glasses or bowls. For larger portions, divide into two servings instead.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the mousse for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up and for the flavors to meld together nicely.
  5. Serve: Serve the mousse chilled. Optionally, top with extra chocolate chips, a drizzle of nut butter, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Use coconut sugar or honey as a natural sweetener depending on your preference or dietary needs.
  • Oat flour can be made by grinding rolled oats in a food processor if you don’t have pre-made oat flour.
  • Choose your favorite nut butter such as almond, peanut, or cashew butter to customize flavor.
  • For a vegan version, substitute the cottage cheese with a plant-based alternative like silken tofu or cashew cream.
  • The mousse thickens further when chilled, so don’t skip the refrigeration step for the best texture.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for freshness.
