These Chicken Caesar Smash Tacos offer a delicious twist on traditional tacos by combining crispy ground chicken with classic Caesar salad flavors. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal, these tacos feature seasoned ground chicken pressed directly onto tortillas and pan-fried to crispy perfection, topped with crunchy romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese, and smoky turkey bacon bits.

Ingredients

Protein and Seasoning

  • 500g (1 pound) ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Tortillas

  • 8 small flour tortillas

Toppings

  • ½ head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • ⅓ cup Caesar dressing
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons turkey bacon bits

Cooking Fat

  • Olive oil or avocado oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Add the ground chicken to a bowl and season it well with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  2. Prepare the tortillas: Flip each tortilla over and spread a thin, even layer of the seasoned ground chicken onto the back side, pressing down firmly to ensure it sticks and forms a uniform layer.
  3. Cook the chicken side: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of olive or avocado oil. Place the tortillas chicken-side down in the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked through and has developed a crispy texture.
  4. Cook the tortilla side: Flip each tortilla and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the tortilla is golden brown and crisp.
  5. Add toppings: Remove the tortillas from the skillet and top each with chopped romaine lettuce, a drizzle of Caesar dressing, grated parmesan cheese, and turkey bacon bits. Alternatively, toss the romaine lettuce with Caesar dressing before spooning it onto the tacos for an even coating.
  6. Serve: Fold the tacos and serve immediately while they are still hot and crispy for the best texture and flavor experience.

Notes

  • For a low-carb option, substitute flour tortillas with corn tortillas or lettuce wraps.
  • You can customize the protein by using ground turkey or plant-based alternatives if desired.
  • Use freshly grated parmesan cheese for the best flavor and melting quality.
  • Adjust the amount of Caesar dressing to taste, adding more for creamier tacos or less for a lighter option.
  • Leftover chicken can be refrigerated and used in salads or wraps within 2 days.
