Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a deliciously crispy and gooey comfort food perfect for lunch or dinner. Featuring a flavorful mixture of tender chicken, garlic, and melted cheese wrapped in tortillas, these wraps are quick to prepare and high in protein, making them a satisfying and wholesome meal option.

Ingredients

Wrap

  • 2 large tortillas (regular or low-carb/high-protein)

Chicken Filling

  • 7 oz cooked chicken, chopped (about 200 grams, rotisserie recommended)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon light Greek yogurt or plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as Frank’s)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 oz grated cheese (about 90 grams, cheddar blend preferred)
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Cooking

  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a bowl, thoroughly mix the chopped cooked chicken, minced garlic, light mayonnaise, light Greek yogurt, hot sauce, and salt until well combined.
  2. Assemble the wrap: Lay the tortilla flat on a clean surface. On the lower third of the tortilla, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of grated cheese. Top this with approximately ⅔ cup of the prepared chicken mixture. Add another tablespoon of cheese and a sprinkle of chopped green onion on top.
  3. Fold and roll: Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it tightly from the bottom to enclose the filling completely.
  4. Cook the wrap: Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and spray lightly with olive oil. Place the wraps seam-side down in the pan. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until the wraps are crispy and golden brown. Cover the pan with a lid to help the cheese melt and warm the filling evenly.
  5. Serve: Remove the wraps from the pan, slice each in half if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Covering the pan during cooking helps melt the cheese and heat the filling faster.
  • You can prepare the chicken filling ahead and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • For a lighter version, reduce the amount of cheese, though the cheesy center is a key highlight.
  • The recipe also works well in an air fryer: cook at 375°F (190°C) for about 6–8 minutes.
  • You can bake the wraps instead of pan-frying: bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping once; however, pan-frying or air frying yields a crispier wrap.
  • Leftover filling can be repurposed in toasties, quesadillas, or stuffed baked potatoes.
  • Store cooked wraps in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat in a skillet or air fryer to restore crispness. Avoid freezing the wrapped version but the filling freezes well for up to 1 month.
  • These wraps pair well with a crunchy salad, roasted vegetables, pickles, salsa, or chips for a full meal experience.
