This recipe provides a quick and easy way to enjoy classic cookies with a perfect golden finish and melty chocolate chips, ready in under 20 minutes. Ideal for those craving fresh-baked cookies without heating up the oven.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg (at room temperature if possible)
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Add-ins

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Combine Sugars: Melt unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl for 10-20 seconds just until it starts to melt. Add brown sugar and white sugar, then beat together until fully combined and smooth.
  2. Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla bean paste, continuing to beat for another 30 seconds until creamy and well mixed.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients and Chocolate Chips: Stir in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and semi-sweet chocolate chips until the dough is fully combined with no streaks of flour remaining.
  4. Chill Dough (Optional): Place the dough in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight. This step helps improve texture and flavor but is optional.
  5. Prepare Air Fryer: Line the air fryer racks or basket with parchment paper. Scoop about 2-tablespoon portions of dough into the basket, spacing them about 1.5 inches apart. Depending on your air fryer size, you can fit 2 to 4 cookies per batch.
  6. Air Fry Cookies: Cook the cookies in the air fryer at 325°F for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Cool Before Serving: Allow the cookies to rest inside the air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes to firm up before carefully removing them to a cooling rack or plate.

Notes

  • For best results, use room temperature egg to ensure better mixing.
  • Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and results in thicker cookies.
  • Space cookies properly in the air fryer to avoid sticking and uneven cooking.
  • Use parchment paper designed for air fryers to prevent sticking and improve cleanup.
  • Cooking time may vary slightly depending on air fryer model and size; monitor closely to avoid overbaking.
